THEAOURA began with a story close to our hearts: our mother's.

Long before she became the woman we know today, she was a young woman with dreams of her own. She wanted a career. She wanted to shape a life on her own terms. But the world around her had already decided how a woman should dress, how she should behave and how she should live. Somewhere between those expectations and her ambitions, a dream she once held close became an opportunity she never got to chase.

When she finally shared that story with us, we couldn't stop wondering who she might have become if she had been free to follow it. It hurt to realise that a woman's ambitions could be set aside simply because they didn't fit someone else's idea of who she should be.

We didn't want any other woman's story to end that way.
